Balkan Trading supplies Ancient Egyptian giftware and souvenirs to museum shops, exhibitions, gift shops and schools, and private customers. We are enthusiasts of everything to do with Ancient Egypt, but especially The New Kingdom and the 18th Dynasty – the time of Tutankhamun, Nefertiti and Akhenaten. We are a family business trading since 1992 and have grown to our present size to reflect the continuing interest in ancient Egypt.
There are important Egyptian collections in the principal museums of the UK, and we are proud to have supplied nearly every associated shop with Egyptian merchandise.
Balkan Trading prides itself on the wide selection and variety of goods that it supplies. From papyrus to pens and from jewellery to novelties, all the products are chosen with care, with the end user in mind – the school visitor or the family weekend visit to their local museum.
Most items come from Egypt direct and are produced there locally – and are, we believe, produced free from exploitation. Many of the items are artisanal and hand-crafted, so will naturally vary unlike mass-produced items.
